Program Overview
This program focuses on species and population conservation of bats threatened by White-nose Syndrome. A strong collaborative approach will be necessary for range-wide, long-term species conservation.
Goal To conserve bat populations and prevent species extinctions by helping to halt the spread of White-nose Syndrome and to mitigate its impact.
Program Objectives BCI’s internal strategy is evolving, but currently comprises three areas;
- Communications and outreach to decision-makers and the public.
- Management and conservation of bats and their habitats in the path of White-nose Syndrome.
- Supporting research through partnerships and a competitive grants program.
